AMD Reducing Workforce by 1100 Jobs, Lowering Salaries

It looks like AMD is going to be reducing it work force and lowering salaries, according to the Wall Street Journal.

SAN FRANCISCO--Advanced Micro Devices Inc. said it will reduce its workforce by 1,100 positions and impose temporary pay cuts on management and other employees in its latest effort to respond to tough business conditions.

The chip maker said Hector Ruiz, its executive chairman, and Dirk Meyer, its chief executive officer, will be taking a temporary reduction of 20%
